About Me

Hello, my name is Deborah Perry Integlia. I am the owner and founder of JulChris Cookies. I began from my home in the fall of 2002 baking cookies for local coffee shops in the Portland, Maine community. I did this for almost nine years, at which time I outgrew my kitchen, dinning room and living room. In june 2010, I opened the JulChris Cookie Bakery and Retail Store. My cookies can now be purchased directly from my store where the cookies are baked fresh every day.

JulChris Cookies originated out of the enjoyment and satisfaction I have in experimenting with my own ideas of what a cookie should taste and look like. Most of my cookie creations come from childhood memories of soft and chewy chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, snickerdoodles, ginger molasses, criss cross peanut butter and English toffee. One of my favorites is my mother's shortbread, a very delicious, very rich butter cookie, lightly sweetened and uniquely thick. Through the years I have created my own additions to the cookies I grew up with and you can find out more about those when you look at what I have to offer under the cookie selections of this website.

Before I started baking for Portland's many coffee shops, I was a stay at home mother of two married to a Navy Officer. During twenty years of military service, our family moved every three years. We lived in Newport, Rhode Island; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; San Diego, California; Groton, Connecticut; Boston, Massachusetts; and Cape Elizabeth, Maine. During those years, he was deployed overseas and separated from us, his family. I had plenty of opportunity to practice the craft of baking a great cookie while those my husband was deployed with reaped the benefits. All the many school functions, town fairs, sports events and church gatherings were opportunities for me to try out my creations before I made that big move to have my own cookie baking business.

Today I would like to invite you to try my cookies, JulChris Cookies, named after my two children, Julia and Christopher. If you are unable to come to my store to purchase your cookies, I will send them to you. Each order I receive is made by hand individually and separately to ensure that you are receiving the most mouth-watering always from scratch cookies you will ever taste; that's my personal guarantee! I never use preservatives, so your cookies will be shipped out the same day I bake them to ensure their freshness. If you are not satisfied, I will refund your money or ship out another order to you.
